Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) such as Blockchain do not just influence the technological world, they promise to reshape almost every conceivable part of society. By distributing information with a high level of transparency and security, DLTs have refined the internet by solving problems related to trust, transparency, and privacy. Not just for financial institutions but also for public administration, who can use DLTs to protect trusted records and simplify interactions with citizens.
At the core of the TOKEN Project– of which FIWARE Foundation is a key partner – lies the aim to develop an experimental ecosystem to enable the adoption of Blockchain and other DLTs as drivers for the transformation of public services towards an open and collaborative government approach. Different entities and public administrations in the TOKEN ecosystem show the way in which governments can adopt solutions that help manage processes in a more open, reliable, efficient, and transparent manner.
FIWARE Foundation is organizing “Distributed Ledger Technologies: Shaping the Future of Digital Governments”, a free virtual event, on behalf of the TOKEN Project to explore how Blockchain and other DLTs can contribute to more transparent, sustainable, and inclusive public services. Throughout this virtual event, experts from different and diverse organizations will discuss how DLTs and Blockchain, in particular, can simplify the management of trusted information, making it easier for public administration to access and use critical public-sector data while maintaining security of this information. It will also explore how policymakers, technical experts, and thought leaders around DLTs capitalize on the potential of the technology and which are the most promising areas of application.
Montse Guardia will be at the Expert Session: Why are we talking of tech convergence & ecosystems to explain Blockchain?
